Privacy Policy

The short version: 1000 Words (on the App Store as 1000 Words - Swipe & Learn) does not collect, store or share any personal data. Everything the app knows about you stays on your device.
What the app collects
Nothing. 1000 Words has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. The app never connects to a server of ours — there isn't one. It works entirely offline.
What is stored on your device
Your learning progress (which words you have marked as known or for review, quiz results, your streak), the language you chose to use the app in, and your reminder preference are saved in a small file inside the app's own storage on your iPhone. This file is included in your device backups (iCloud or computer backups) according to your own iOS settings, and is deleted when you delete the app. You can also clear the progress for any language at any time from that language's screen (menu → Reset progress).
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder in Settings, the app schedules a local notification on your device. Local notifications are created and delivered by iOS on your phone; nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. You can turn the reminder off in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings → Notifications at any time.
Pronunciation
The Listen button uses the speech voices built into iOS, running on your device. The app does not send the words you study anywhere. If iOS needs to download a voice for a language, that download is handled by iOS itself under Apple's privacy policy.
Purchases
1000 Words is a paid download. Your purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store under Apple's privacy policy. The app does not receive your name, email address or payment details.
Third parties
We do not share data with third parties, because we do not have any data to share.
Children
The app is rated 9+ on the App Store and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Your choices and deleting your data
Because all data lives on your device, you are in full control of it: reset a language's progress from within the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. There is nothing held elsewhere to request or delete.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy — for example, if a future version added optional sync — this page will be updated first and the change described in the App Store release notes.
